What to Expect: I’ll start this two hour session with a quick demo of the process we’ll be using, get you to do a small practice print, and then help you finalise your image and transfer it onto your lino. Once that is done, and you are happily carving away, I’ll make us a cup of tea.
Everybody goes at different paces, with some using almost the entire session to carve their image and just doing a bit of printing at the end, and others carving their image quickly at the beginning and using lots of the time to experiment with printing. However, roughly speaking, you’d be aiming to get your design transferred onto your lino in the first 30 minutes, then spend the next 60 minutes carving, and the last 30 minutes printing onto paper and fabric, enjoying that ‘wow’ moment when you peel your paper off the plate
No drawing ability is needed, and lots of ideas and guidance available, so you can turn up on the day with nothing in mind, and that will be perfectly fine. However, if you would like to prepare a drawing or design in advance to bring along on the day, I’ll provide some pointers in advance.
One on One
You can book a one-on-one session with me, where you can work quietly at your own pace with as much (or as little) attention from me as you need. Hosted in my Darfield studio, these 2 to 3 hour sessions are $240 each, which includes all materials plus a small platter of food.
Suitable both for beginners, and for those with some experience linocutting who may wish to further their knowledge in a particular area (e.g. reduction printing to create multi-coloured prints)
Group Sessions with your group
Get together a group of friends and book a fun workshop together. These sessions are 2 hours and prices include all materials and a platter of food.

- $100 per person for 3 people
- $90 per person for 4 people
- $80 per person for 5 people
- $70 per person for 6 people
These are hosted in my Darfield studio which fits 6 people. However, I am also happy to host a workshop at your venue and/or for more people – contact me for more details and prices.
Join a Group Session with others
When I have quiet patches in between exhibitions, I schedule group workshops for six people at a time in my Darfield studio that anyone can come along to. These are $70 per person and include all materials and a platter of food. If you would like to receive details of when these are coming up, send me a message (also let me know if you prefer weekday evenings or daytimes).
Tailor Made Workshops: I also regularly do workshops in watercolour sketching, stamp carving, art for children, and for large groups. Contact me about tailoring something to your group.
Artist’s Talks: I enjoy speaking about my work, and would be happy to give an engaging and interesting artist’s talk at your next group event, providing a demonstration of my process, my materials, my art and my journey so far.
